Sunset Skies & Storytelling: Capturing Ranguana Caye from Above
Some shoots stick with you forever and for us, Ranguana Caye was one of them. While on location in Belize, we wrapped up a long day of production by taking in one of the most unreal island sunsets we’ve ever seen. And while the sky lit up in shades of fire and gold, I was flying the drone capturing the exact kind of visuals that you dream about when you’re a filmmaker.
That moment wasn’t just personal it became part of something bigger. The breathtaking drone footage we captured of Ranguana Caye was later featured in the Netflix docuseries Running with the Devil, bringing a piece of that serene, untouched beauty to screens around the world.
The location was remote. The gear was specialized. And the environment between the golden hour glow, the ocean breeze, and the stillness of the water was nothing short of magic. We used cinema grade drones and polarizing filters to make every shot count, giving each frame the depth and clarity worthy of a global platform.
At Peak Media, we pride ourselves on being ready for any environment, from jungles to islands to high profile productions. But moments like this one? They remind us why we started to chase light, capture emotion, and turn remote beauty into visual storytelling.
