A New World Underwater: Filming the Aquarium at St. Louis Union Station During the Pandemic

Filming at the Aquarium at St. Louis Union Station was a unique experience that brought an entirely new perspective to our work, especially considering it was during the height of the pandemic. The usual bustling atmosphere of Union Station was much quieter, creating an almost surreal opportunity to capture the aquarium’s beauty in an environment that felt both peaceful and intimate.

During this shoot, we documented everything from the exotic fish swimming lazily through coral reefs to the awe inspiring sharks gliding effortlessly through tanks. The stillness of the moment, combined with the fluid motion of the sea life, gave our team the chance to focus deeply on each shot, capturing the magic of the space without the usual crowd distractions.

Though filming during the pandemic meant stricter guidelines and fewer people on set, it also allowed us to get up close to the exhibits, highlighting the intricate details of the aquatic life and architecture that make this aquarium so special.

At Peak Media, we embrace every challenge, especially when it comes to capturing content that celebrates both the natural world and human resilience. This project not only showcased the wonders of the aquarium but also the adaptability and perseverance of the people who keep these experiences alive no matter the circumstances.
